Staff Guidelines
#1
Information
There have been many requests for new staff guidelines, and it was taken up in a recent meeting.
We've been working on these for a few days now, but they can still be edited at any time.
Please do remember, that these are a cross between a guide and rules

Guidelines for Newcomers
(Note that Superadmin is not mentioned intentionally)

Failing to abide many of the guidelines below, can result in consequences
(e.g demotions, bans, etc.)

Respected
  • Short resumé of the rank
Respected is the third lowest rank , and it is given to trusted newcomers that are well and familiar with the social aspects of the server, as well as the rules. Given very little power, the rank is still not nothing, and should not be overestimated.

  • Recommended behaviour and decisions
    • Respected players aren’t meant to do actual duty, equal to that of a Moderator or Admin - They are supposed to advise new or regular users throughout their gameplay, enhancing and improving it in any way they can (if not contributing to it).
    • Respected are not to interfere with actual Moderator or Admin duty, they are to assist, not disrupt.
  • What will be expected from you
    • You are an active member of the community, and is contributing to events and collaborating with the staff.
    • You know your way around the rules, and know (at least) most of them.
    • You trust and respect the other members of the server, in spite of personal preferences.
    • You are fit to make quick decisions in stressful situations, and are able to handle them calmly.
  • What not to do
    • Don’t be a mingebag.
      • Don’t grief other players.
      • Don’t target specific players on a personal weakness (e.g bullying/harassment).
      • Don’t make false claims to utilize the staff for your advantage.
    • Don’t disobey the rules (basic knowledge).

Moderator
  • Short resumé of the rank
Moderators are the ground team of the server, they handle tough situations, when Admins and Respected are unable to. Given a fair amount of power, the rank is tough to earn, and is not just something you achieve over the weekend. They are second in command next to admins, and are most likely to call the shots when nobody else is around to do so.

  • Recommended behaviour and decisions
    • Always offer assistance to other staff members that may need it.
    • Remember that you are not the center of attention, observe the situation, and only kick in when necessary.
    • Be a good role model to the other staff members.
    • You are able to work alone, without getting pressed into making rash decisions.
      • Yet, you are also able to work together with the other staff members, as a team.
    • Your judgement will play a big role. You will be expected to have a good sense of situation, and fairness.
    • Don't abuse your powers for unecessary things - most of the tools that are available for Moderators, are for actual duty.
    • Being a moderator does not mean that you are above the rules, you are supposed to enforce them, not make/control/break them.

Admin
  • Short resumé of the rank
Admin is the third highest rank, as they naturally will take charge when needed. Respected and Moderators are to abide and assist them at all times, yet they will most likely be better off on their own.
Admin is only awarded to qualified individuals, that follow up on the specified quotas below. Not only that, but admins will most likely have say on other platforms as well.

  • Recommended behaviour and decisions
    • You are now a role model to every other player on the server, and people will get a sense of situation from you - If you don’t know what you are doing, then people will take advantage of that. Make sure you have every tense situation under control.
    • Just like the other ranks, you enforce the rules, you don’t make them. Admins are not above the rules, like everyone else, and it will have consequences if you disobey them.
  • What will be expected from you
    • This is the second highest rank that is achievable to users, at this point, people will expect that you know exactly what you are doing.
    • Don’t disobey the rules (basic knowledge).
    • Don’t attempt to take matters that don’t concern you, in your own hands (e.g Superadmin business).
